I just want to be the first to post in the Photography forum. This will be my baby. :) I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!

It was too cloudy here for there to be much of a show for the city's "big" fireworks so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures.
I'm glad to see you like the photography forum! Saurdo has been working on integrating the gallery into the forums. Now when you click the attachment button in the new post page it will bring up a mini-version of your folder in the gallery. You can then click what image you want to post and click "send to post" and it'll automatically add the code to your post!
Nice photo by the way! I was tempted to buy some fireworks just to play around with taking their pictures but I didn't get around to it.

Nice photo. I tried taking some pictures of fireworks a couple years ago. I wasn't properly prepared and I'm no good at keeping still so they turned into a horrible blurry mess. So horrible, in fact, that I apparently deleted all records of them. I wanted to share with you my squigly lines.
Oh well, I'm glad you had success with your fireworks.
The "send to post" button in the mini-gallery was probably the most troublesome feature we created for this website. Enjoy it!

Well having a $1,200 camera, $1,500 lens, and a $350 tripod to work with certainly helped. It is a possibility that I am as passionate about photography as you are about programming. You may have the edge in that contest though. It is very obvious you know exactly what you are doing. At the very least you have gained a loyal photography servant. Ironically my profession, noting that I don't have a reef of my own yet, is marine biology. Actually my studies led me to meeting Ludnix in the first place. Hopefully someday I will pour glamor marine shots into this very forum. I already have the equipment and know how, I just need the tank/natural subjects. Obviously there aren't any shots of my own reef tank to post yet. Instead of a reef shot I will try the "send to post" method with a picture of my best friend surfing for now. It is appropriate because he is directly responsible for my interest in advanced photography.

Your web site is amazing by the way. I tip my hat to all administrators of this great forum and am very proud to label myself as an origional member. Hopefully I will become a Dr. as opposed to Mr. with a degree in marine biology someday, so down the road I should be able to contribute greatly to this already amazing forum. You have really outdone yourselves.
EDIT:
It works! :D

Are you sure it wasn't the other two subjects that are responsible for your interest in photography? :p
Let me know when you get tank setup and I'll send you some frags!

No the other two subjects are (partly) responsible for my interest in surfing! ;)
I plan to take you up on that! Having a reef tank has been a dream of mine for years. I should probably buckle down and drill/set up one of several empty 20 gallon tanks waiting on my back porch. My main problem is a permanent place for a reef. I want to set up a 180g-240g, but knowing I'll be moving within a years time gives me 2nd thoughts. A simple 20 gallon setup would allow my feet to get wet but fair much better in cross-state transport. I'll probably be moving 9 hours north after this semester to attend another university which specializes in marine biology. I have a road trip set up on the 16th of this month to scope it out.
