Salt Mixes!

What salt mix are you all using?

I'm using Coralife personally, but only because it seems to get the job done and is cheap. I have always had very high levels of calcium, magnesium and alkalinity out of the bag so that helps keep me from having to dose as much.

Attached is an analysis done of various salt mixes and their levels. It's an interesting read if you want to know which salt mixes had how much of what element. It may be a little dated at this point though, who knows how much companies have changed their salt since it was done.

I think I might have to switch to Coralife after checking out the Salt Brand Comparison Survey. It would have better to see them use Ion Chromatography and Mass Spec instead of the less acurate and precise lab techniques.

I don't think that company has access to a mass spectrometer, I think they always use the spectrophotometer and titration for their water samples. The mass spec should be more accurate, but man are they expensive!
